Grant for drainage project approved
The Orlando City Council approved a grant for a drainage-improvement project in the Lake Highland area.
In total, the Florida Division of Emergency Management has awarded the City $2,366,030.25 through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
The project’s goal is to improve drainage to reduce flooding along Irma Avenue, Marks Street, Pasadena Place and Highland Avenue, ending north at the overflow to Lake Highland. It’s meant to provide protection against a 25-year storm event.
